May Daze Flower Party

In Chester CT Events on April 23, 2015 at 10:39 am

May Day will be celebrated in Chester this year with a May Daze flower party on Friday, May 1, beginning at 5 p.m.

May Daze is the annual Spring evening stroll through Chester Village for residents and visitors. This year the event falls on May 1 – the centuries-old festival celebrating flowers and Spring. After the long and brutal winter we’ve just had, we all deserve a flower-filled Spring celebration!

The village’s shops, galleries and restaurants will be open with special floral-themed offerings beginning at 5 p.m.  such as:

At Maple and Main Gallery, May Wine made with sweet woodruff flowers will be served while you enjoy the Spring Show featuring flower paintings. Two tables full of beautiful unframed flower-themed paintings and drawings will be sold at only $100 apiece, and there will be a free raffle for a flower painting, titled Shower Flowers, by Chester artist Claudia Van Nes.

Floral items are being given away with purchase at several shops (such as floral hair ties at C&G Unparalleled Apparel and leather flower key ring at Red Pepper), and special sales on floral items will be held at other shops. Flower petals will decorate the refreshments served as you stroll through the shops and galleries. Meanwhile, the Dizzy River Band will be playing your classic favorites on the patio at the Pattaconk from 6 to 9 p.m.

Come and bring your friends to Chester’s picturesque and historic village to celebrate everything that’s good about Spring!
