AUDITIONS

FOR THE EAST HADDAM STAGE COMPANY’S

LIVE ACTION SHERLOCK HOLMES ‘RADIO’ PLAY

AT GILLETTE CASTLE STATE PARK, EAST HADDAM CT

6-week season runs from July 7th-August 12th, and consists of two 30-minute shows at 1:30pm & 3:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays, on outdoor stage. Rehearsals begin June 18, times will vary depending on actor’s schedules.
CASTING Non-Union:
THREE MEN, ONE WOMAN, AGES 18 AND OVER, TO PORTRAY SHERLOCK HOLMES, DR. WATSON, SOUND EFFECTS PERSON, AND VARIOUS CHARACTERS IN A LIVE ACTION SIMULATED ‘RADIO’ DRAMA OF A SHERLOCK HOLMES DRAMA.

A VARIETY OF ENGLISH ACCENTS WILL BE NEEDED.

AUDITIONS WILL CONSIST MAINLY OF READING FROM THE SCRIPT, BUT PLEASE COME PREPARED WITH A SHORT, MEMORIZED, DRAMATIC MONOLOGUE IN AN ENGLISH ACCENT.

Bushy Hill Nature Center on Saturday, May 12 to hundreds of supporters and
fans. They play next at the Ivory Pub in Deep River on May 25th.

Chester’s Norma Terris Theatre Presents: The Bikinis

Get ready for a heat wave of hot tunes at The Norma Terris Theatre this summer! Goodspeed Musicals, the first two-time Tony Award-winning theatre in the country, announced today on Facebook and Twitter that the fab new musical The Bikinis will round out their three-show season. Destined to be a summer smash, this fun-loving, finger-snappin’ blast-from-the-past is chock-full of hit tunes from the 60s and 70s.  Don’t miss The BikinisAugust 9 through September 2, 2012; it’ll be a gas!

Back together again! The sixties girl group that everyone loves is bringing back the sun, fun and all the great songs they sang on the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore…all to raise money to save Sandy Shores Mobile Home Beach Resort.  These Jersey Girls relive their heyday in a non-stop celebration of song with over 30 hits like “It’s In His Kiss,” “Yellow Polka Dot Bikini,” “Heat Wave,”and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” The Bikinis are irresistible!

The Bikinis is conceived and written by Ray Roderick and James Hindman.  Ray Roderick, who is also choreographing and directing the show, has directed numerous Goodspeed Opera House hits including the current sensation Mame, Singin’ in the Rain, My One And Only  and 42nd Street as well as last year’s tin pan alley tuner Hello! My Baby at The Norma Terris Theatre. Mr. Roderick served as the Associate Director of the 2000 Broadway revival of The Music Man and Co-conceived, Directed, and Choreographed the National Tour of Irving Berlin’s I Love A Piano.  James Hindman has acted in several Broadway hits including Mary Poppins, 1776, and City of Angels. Music Arrangements are by Joseph Baker with additional music and lyrics by Joseph Baker and Ray Roderick.

The Bikinis will run August 9 – September 2, 2012. Curtain times are Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m, Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. (with the exception of August 9 which begins at 8:00 p.m.), Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The 2012 Norma Terris Theatre season will kick off with Amazing Grace, an epic new musical running from May 17- June 10. Beginning November 8 through December 2, The Great American Mousical.

3rd Annual Karmic Relief Fundraiser

The Sanctuary’s Third Annual Karmic Relief event will feature a fusion of creative antics, a light-hearted celebration of the spiritual path and all-ages participational involvement from the audience. This year’s fund-raising event will feature Comic Hypnotist Dan Larosa.

Watch your friends fly on magic carpets, land on a mysterious planet, and speak a “foreign” language.  Don’t miss the opportunity to witness people right next to you fall asleep at the snap of a finger – and maybe even become hypnotized yourself.

Food, live jazz music, a silent auction, plus a great community of special people.

Proceeds from this event will support the Sanctuary 501(c)(3) organization, helping to finance the installation costs of a beautiful 8 KWH solar system which moves the Sanctuary forward in its mission to tread compassionately on the earth.
