In conjunction with the eagle festival, eo is proud to present the film A Celebration of Birds. Travel from Florida to Maine birding with Old Lyme’s Roger Tory Peterson, as he shares experiences from a career that spanned 70 years. Famous for writing and illustrating the Peterson’s Field Guide to Birds, Peterson tells of the changes he’s seen and his concerns for the future. Shot two years before Peterson’s death, it is a beautiful documentary about a remarkable man who forever changed the world’s appreciation of birds.

As an added bonus we will have Chester’s own Matthew Male, brother of the film maker on location to add some interesting stories about the making of the film. Time allowing we may also show: The Return of the Osprey, which features footage shot in Old Lyme and Shelter Island, or one of the Watching Series (Watching… Waders, Sparrows, Warblers, Western Warblers.)

DVD’s will be available for purchase following the film.
